The video A Vision of Rear Window was presented during the course “Project, Color and Image”, which was coordinated by Professor Élide Monzeglio, at the Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo - Universidade de São Paulo - Brasil. The object of this analysis which represents a personal visual perception of an environment is the set design of the motion picture Rear Window directed by Alfred Hitchcock. This atmosphere presents richness in its constructed forms filled with a variety of colors and lights, responsible for leading the psychological load of the plot which takes place in a block of apartments that surrounds a fragmented, enclosed courtyard. This visual mix is represented in that way due the lack of communication among the residents. Lights and colors materialize the whole of this architectural sight. A Vision of Rear Window is a research that aims at recreating a bit of the emotion that “Rear Window” provokes within our hearts.
